The Festival for Sacred Music was founded in 2010 and takes place since then each year in Strasbourg. In 2023, the festival was awarded the Tolerance Prize of the European Court of Human Rights. The members of the organising festival association arrange around twenty concerts for the promotion of interreligious and interfaith dialogue. At each edition, at least three music ensembles from different religions and cultures perform together: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Bahai. The concerts take place in each other’s places of worship, in cathedrals, synagogues, mosques, churches, temples and pagodas.
