In a world full of conflict, we need what brings us together—shared values that enable peaceful coexistence in diversity. First introduced by theology professor Hans Küng and later endorsed by the Parliament of the World’s Religions, the Global Ethic idea shows that shared values are found in all religions and cultures worldwide. They are the foundation of respect, social cohesion, and global peace. The Global Ethic Foundation is dedicated to promoting values-based democracy and interreligious dialogue. For over 30 years, it has fostered conversations among people of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. Based in Germany, the foundation supports interfaith dialogue and civic education through educational programs, consulting, and networking. We view religious actors as a vital part of civil society and actively promote the value of religious diversity.
