Muslim scholars, theologians, teachers, imams and head of National Muslim associations and mosques from more than 20 European countries are involved in EULEMA activities in the field of religious freedom, intercultural education, interreligious dialogue, human rights, prevention against hatred and discrimination, in cooperation with the Institutions of the European Union.

EULEMA coordinates initiatives to better represent faith and the rights and dignity of Muslim communities at regional level. It engages in Europe-wide interfaith dialogue and encourages understanding and solidarity between faith groups.

It undertakes and seeks to foster a productive and respectful exchange between the religious and secular sectors of modern European society, in order to ensure that all European citizens are able to assume their rights and responsibilities as equal members of that society without sacrificing their faith, traditions or identity.
