Le B’nai B’rith (the ‘Sons of the Covenant’) is the eldest Jewish organisation. Created in the United States in the mid-19th century to support Jews who had come from Europe, it provides assistance to the most disadvantaged through solidarity funds and philanthropic activities.

B’nai B’rith is present in Jewish communities in some sixty countries in the form of associations, the largest of which are in the United States, South America, Israel and Europe, in particular France.

In addition to providing assistance to people in need, B’nai B’rith is a major player in the work to combat racism, anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial. It promotes liberal values, democracy and tolerance. The organisation is also very active in interfaith dialogue, for which it has a dedicated team in New York.

Naturally, it stands with the Israeli people.

Within the Conference of INGOs of the Council of Europe, it participates in the work of the committees for inter-religious and inter-convictional dialogue, the reception of migrants and gender equality.
