The Committee for Interreligious and Interconvictional Dialogue was initiated by faith based INGOs enjoying participatory status and adopted by the 2021 Conference of INGOs of the Council of Europe.

The aim of our committee is i.e. to combat prejudice, discrimination, acts and expressions of hatred. Our goal is to create a permanent platform for genuine dialogue between representatives of religions and non-denominational organisations within the Council of Europe.

We base our activities on the Recommendation 2080 (from 2015) of the Parliamentary Assembly entitled ‘Religious freedom and living together in a democratic society’.

We are committed to facilitate sincere dialogue, foster peace and strengthen democracy in Europe. Our committee works closely with experts, institutions and other INGOs that do not have participatory status.
